A bright and beautiful day awaited us as we set out on our bicycle adventure to Diani Beach. The excitement among the group was infectious, fueled by eagerness and anticipation of what lay ahead. Like gears in a well-oiled machine, we embarked on our journey, cycling in unison towards our destination.
Encountering Turbulences
Alas, no journey is without its challenges. Just after crossing the ferry at 1:30 pm, we faced a minor setback when one of our bicycles encountered trouble. But, in the spirit of teamwork, we united to find a nearby repair shop to fix the issue. As the repair took roughly 30 minutes, we were reminded that even amidst minor turbulences, support and encouragement were essential to keep moving forward.
“He Who Looks Back…”
During our expedition, we encountered moments where some progressed faster than others. Yet, we never left anyone behind; instead, we encouraged one another to keep pedaling forward, no matter the pace. As the old adage goes, “He who looks back is not worthy of the future.” With our eyes firmly set on the horizon, we continued our trek towards Diani Beach.

Finally arriving at Diani Beach around 4:30 pm, we were greeted by the azure waters of the sea, a welcoming sight for our weary bodies. After indulging in our packed lunches, we plunged into the sea to rejuvenate our minds and relax our muscles. As St. Josemaria once said, “Do not forget that true love sets no conditions; it does not calculate or complain, but simply loves.”
Homeward Bound
Having satisfied our hunger for adventure, we spent some blissful moments swimming and capturing memories with delightful pictures. As the sun began to set, we reluctantly departed from the beach. Surprisingly, the journey back seemed easier, as if the road recognized the strength we had built throughout the day. It reminded us of the quote, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
